WJHG – June 3, 2026 - A local non-profit organization is celebrating the impact it’s made on the Northwest Florida community.
United Way of Northwest Florida works to raise money for working families close to home. Most donations are spread across Bay, Calhoun, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, and Washington counties, focused on meeting educational, health, and financial needs.
Partners and donors gathered Friday morning for the annual meeting. They took time to recognize how their efforts have made a difference in the past year.
“We really work to try and help the working families in our communities be successful. We know there’s about just about 60 percent of the families in our six counties are really struggling paycheck to paycheck and we think it’s our job to make sure they have access to all of the things they need to be successful so they’re not missing work, so they keep their lights on, so they have food on the table for their children, and that’s really the crux of everything we do,” said Gina Littleton, President and CEO of United Way of Northwest Florida.
In 2025, United Way created nearly $5 million in impact for those in need within their communities.
